SCULPTURAL WORKS

Every piece of timber tells me a story. My job is to bring it to life.

I work with driftwood and reclaimed timber found along the shores and paths that I have walked for decades, many pieces of timber have travelled thousands of kilometers with me over the years because I could already see what they would become.

Not every piece comes home with me. Only the ones with a story to be told.

From the moment I pick a piece up, I already know - a manta ray rising through a breaking wave, a turtle navigating ancient waters, a pod of dolphins, a moment of grief or love or memory made physical and permanent.

These works are painted and finished by hand. Unlike my natural timber sculptures where I let the wood speak in its own colour and grain, the sculptural works call for more life - to shine.

Colour that deepens the story or evokes movement, a finish that draws the eye, details that asks you to look closer... and then closer again.

The intention is always the same: to make something that moves you.

It doesn't just decorate a room. It doesn't just fill a space. It moves you.

Stops you mid-step and makes you feel something you didn't expect to feel when you walked past.

Every piece is one of a kind. Every piece began as something found. What it became is entirely its own.
